Libraries and lifelong learning

1 min read

The Brooklyn Public Library has about sixty branches, one in almost every neighbourhood, and a library card is free for anyone who lives, works, studies or pays property taxes in New York. Beyond books, libraries lend e-books and audiobooks, run job-search and small-business workshops, and offer free internet, printing and meeting space.

Museums, botanic gardens and cultural centres run workshops and school programmes, and many offer free or pay-what-you-wish hours. The Brooklyn Museum, the Brooklyn Children’s Museum and the Brooklyn Botanic Garden all have family programmes.
